Yamaha 125CC Automatic Scooter Coming Soon

The Indian market surely seems to have a thing or two for the automatic scooters. The success of the Honda Activa in the country is such that the scooter has waiting periods of 5 months in some areas. And how can every two wheeler maker be left behind in the department of the automatics. Honda started the party and two wheeler makers all over the world joined the wagon.

And the latest of the entrants is Yamaha. The bike maker has given us the bikes we could ride all day and now wants to give us the pleasure of driving an automatic. Its not that its all new for Yamaha. They brought the Yamaha Ray some months back to the Indian market but it was aimed mainly at the fairer sex and that somehow limited the scope of the scooter but a scooter for men shall definitely increase the scope of the scooter.

A confirmation from the stable of Yamaha states that the company is about to launch a macho looking automatic scooter in the Indian market to increase the market reach of the company as the two wheeler automatic scooter segment is highly popular in India. Also markets like Australia and Nepal which get products after their Indian launches shall get the automatic scooter too are now on the verge of introducing a larger, all-new and macho automatic scooter.

Yamaha has not officially confirmed this but it is believed that the scooter will come with a four-stroke 125cc engine that will fill the void of a performance scooter as the competition has feeble 100-110 cc engines. It will compete directly with the Vespa offering from the Italian scooter maker. The world may have blokes who would love bikes but there’s nothing which could beat the convenience of an automatic. It would be launched by mid 2013 so you know till when to wait if you want to lay your hands on it.
