In recent times, the 600cc sportbikes have not been exactly setting sales charts on fire. With litre bikes becoming faster than ever and entry-level bikes becoming more fun, the 600cc bikes have started losing their appeal. That said, if there is one bike maker which has been making a living out of selling middleweight sportbikes, it is Suzuki. After all, few people are unaware of the Suzuki GSX-R600 and GSX-R750. While many are waiting with bated breath for the GSX-R750, a new report has surfaced about the upcoming GSX-R600. Here’s all we know about the new 2019 Suzuki GSX-R600 price, expected launch date, specifications, engine details and features.
New 2019 Suzuki GSX-R600 Price
|Price (expected||12,999 – 15,999|
The current Suzuki GSX-R600 on sale in UK retails for 8,999. For the new bike to flaunt the best middleweight sportsbike specsheet, Suzuki will have to bump its price up by quite a bit. Suzuki may just launch the GSX-R600 with slight updates. However, in such a case, Suzuki may very well not even bring a new GSX-R600 out.
New 2019 Suzuki GSX-R600 Launch Date
|Launch Date (expected)||H1, 2019|
The latest reports suggest that Suzuki will launch the new GSX-R600 in 2019. Our best guess is in the first half of the year. Going by recent trends, if Suzuki intends to launch the bike in 2019, it will have to show it at EICMA in 2018. Unless something big happens, EICMA shall take place in November 2018 where Suzuki will show the bike. From then to first half of 2019, Suzuki will have enough time to gauge the reaction of buyers and launch the new GSX-R600.
New 2019 Suzuki GSX-R600 Technical Specifications
|Engine Displacement and Type||5,99cc, inline, liquid-coooled, DOHC, four-cylinder engine|
|Suspension (F/R)||Show Big Piston Fork/Fully Adjustable link-type monoshock|
|Brakes (front)||Dual Discs with Brembo M40 Monobloc 6-piston calipers|
|Brakes (rear)||Single disc with Brembo M40 Monobloc 4 piston caliper|
The new Suzuki GSX-R600 will have to boast more power and torque from its engine to find buyers. The use of big piston fork up front will help it offer better damping and feedback characteristics. While offering Brembo Monobloc M50 calipers will be an overkill and expensive, the best bet is that Suzuki offers Brembo M40 Monobloc calipers.
New 2019 Suzuki GSX-R600 Dimensions
|LxWxH||2,030mm x 700mm x 1,135mm|
|Fuel Tank Capacity||17 litres|
The new Suzuki GSX-R600 will be going up against the Yamaha YZF-R6 upon launch. Yamaha has just given the R6 a new face. So, this is the bike GSX-R600 will be aiming at. To give the GSX-R600 touring capabilities, Suzuki will have to give it a 17-litre fuel tank like on the bike currently on sale in the UK.
