Mini, a British automotive company owned by BMW, specializing in small cars has recently presented an innovative concept- Mini Citysurfer Concept to face the traffic situations in urban areas. This Mini Citysurfer will provide the users an agile, safe and versatile riding experience.
This Mini Citysurfer concept will solve transportation problems in modern cities where people face difficulties like huge traffic, less parking space. This concept combines light and compact single-track vehicle in the style of a kick scooter with an auxiliary electric drive. It has compact structure, it can be folded and has a light weight of 18 kilograms (40 lbs). Thus, it is so light and compact that it gives ease of taking it with other automobiles. It can be carried in the luggage compartment in a car, bus or a train and can be taken off when required. This concept can’t be confused with bicycles since folding bicycles don’t have an electric drive but this Mini concept does. It gets power from lithium-ion battery which can be charged through 12-volt automobile socket or automobile socket. Battery once depleted, can be recharged. When the battery gets empty, the electric motor gets switched off and disconnected from the wheel hub in the rear wheel. The journey can be continued with riders physical strength or foot power.

For safety purpose, the power of the electric motor is not activated unless the rider reaches a minimum speed with the physical thrust. It avoids the vehicle from rolling away. With its zero-emission mobility, it helps in the reduction of emissions caused by city traffic.
The vehicle focuses on flexible mobility concepts. It is more attractive for young generation since it can be taken to schools, work, shopping, sight seeing, giving an amazing riding experience over short distances. As of now, Mini Citysurfer is just a concept and the company has not yet announced any plans to manufacture it. Its compact design makes it to be used in city traffic. It takes minimum traffic and parking space giving a comfortable, zero emission ride and stress free, fun-filled experience to the users.
