2013 Honda CB1100 Retro Motorcycle Launched– Pictures and Details

After a really long wait Honda has finally revealed the 2013 Honda CB1100. One look at the CB1100 and one would mistake it for a vintage classic motorcycle, but actually it is a modern iteration of the actual motorcycle launched nearly four decades ago. In 1969, Honda launched the CB750 that was powered by a then-revolutionary 749 CC, air-cooled, SOHC, inline- four pot unit that produced 67 BHP of max power.

Now the CB1100 is hugely inspired by the CB750 and mixes naked classic style of the latter with thoroughly modern and engaging performance, creating a unique personality of its own. The new CB1100 is sporty without being a sportsbike and can tour, without being a touring bike. It is fitted with an air-cooled and oil-cooled inline-four cylinder, DOHC, fuel-injected engine that produces 88 BHP of max power and 93Nm of peak torque. It also returns 25 KMPL at the same time.

Some of the highlights of the motorcycle are a tubular steel double-cradle chassis, 41mm telescopic forks (preload adjustable), Showa rear shocks and 19-inch alloy wheels carrying 110/80 and 140/70 tyres, Anti-lock brakes (standard), twin 296mm discs at the front with Nissin 4-piston calipers etc.

“Instant acceleration has its appeal, as does modern styling that conveys the swiftness of the bike. But there’s a lot more to the path of motorcycle evolution. I found myself thinking along these lines for the first time when I returned to Japan, after several years in Europe. It was also at this time that I grabbed a pencil and quickly started sketching,” says Mitsuyoshi Kohama, Chief Designer for the Honda CB1100.
