BMW Motorrad is in the celebration mood and it has just showcased the BMW Concept Ninety to celebrate the 40th anniversary of R90S. It has been developed in partnership with Roland Sands Design. The bike has its origin way back in the day in 1973 which is when it was first showcased. The bike was a hoot to drive then and could easily go upto speeds of 124mph. It was the first motorcycle to feature a standard front fairing and it wore the Daytona Orange skin colour.
This year at EICMA 2012, BMW showcased the 30th Anniversary edition K1300S which features a number of interesting features. Besides the same, another model that shared the limelight is the 2013 BMW F800GT (Gran Turismo) which is basically a replacement for the outgoing BMW F800ST.
The F800GT is said to be a better touring motorcycle than the F800ST and comes with plenty of revisions that are worth an appreciation. First and foremost, BMW has up-tuned the 798 CC parallel twin cylinder motor which produces a claimed 90 BHP at 8000 RPM, which is 5 BHP more than what the current F800ST produces. Although BMW did not disclose much about the revisions made to this liquid cooled, twin cylinder engine, it did say that the engine will be coupled to a new exhausts system for performance improvements.
The 70th International Motorcycle Exhibition, also known as EICMA, held in Milan was great and as it has been with the previous exhibitions, it attracted so many motorcycle enthusiasts. Every motorcycle manufacturer had something to exhibit at the show including some new motorcycles and special edition models. This year, BMW celebrated the 30th anniversary of its popular K series of motorcycles with a special edition of the BMW K1300S.
BMW Motorrad,the subsidiary of BMW Group specializing in performance two wheelers, has made an announcement on a recall. The Bavarian auto maker has announced that it will be recalling three of its models: K1200S, K1200 R and K1200 R Sport motorcycles produced between the years 2007 and 2008 due to a potential brake problem.
As explained by the German maker, the problem is with the brake fluid that could foam under certain conditions which would lead to loss in braking power. Under severe conditions this foaming of brake fluid could lead to a fatal accident.
For the past 30 years, the BMW GS series has served the motorcyclists across the world and is still fascinating new riders. Whether it is about exploiting the motorcycle on corners like a sport bike or covering straight stretches at high speeds, the series has always performed better than expected.
Now coming directly to the main news here, the International Motor Show is going on in Cologne, Germany and BMW Motorrad has revealed the 2013 BMW R1200GS. The challenge here was how to improve an already wonderful motorcycle, but as always BMW has proved that they are best at its job. This year the company had a couple of points on its checklist which are as below:
BMW Motorrad is the leader in the performance bike segment and the most important model for the brand has to be the BMW S1000RR. The RR has more than enough to keep fill you with riding pleasure and is quite popular among riders. Beside the RR, other models that pump adrenaline through your veins belong to BMW’s HP or High Performance series founded in 2005.
This year the company has announced yet another model to the HP series, the HP4. It is not a new model but a conventional S1000RR featuring some of the most advanced technologies.
