Hero and EBR are going to bring new lineup of low capacity motorcycles in the \u00a0market soon. The Indian Auto giant Hero Motocorp’s has bought minoriy shares in American\u00a0motorcycle maker Erik Buell Racing (EBR) last year. With this tie up, both the firms will be getting some benefit from each other. Hero on hand will gain technical expertise like technology and design from EBR to develop low capacity motorcycles. While, EBR on the other hand will receive financial funding.\u00a0Hero already has a huge R&D centre setup in Jaipur,India.<\/p>\n

Erik Buell Racing, after its split with Harley Davidson has joined hands with Hero in India. This tie up will help them to have an upper hand in Asian market where\u00a0\u00a0affordability, fuel economy and cheap maintenance are seen as the most important factors.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, it was stated by EBR boss Mr. Gary Pietruszewski, Vice President Global sales that\u00a0Hero Hastur Concepts<\/a> and all new sports bike- Hero HX250R<\/a> are very good examples of what might be expected from this tie up in the future. Hero HX250R,\u00a0 single-cylinder four-stroke, 249cc motorcycle was showcased earlier this year which\u00a0produces a maximum power output of 31 BHP and a peak torque of 26 NM.<\/p>\n

Cruisers can also be the possible part\u00a0of the line-up, yet no word is out about whether they will also \u00a0be small displacements bikes with\u00a0single-cylinder or parallel twin-cylinder engines.<\/p>\n

EBR, the maker of expensive bikes, turning into maker of small displacement bikes cant be called\u00a0as a step back considering the huge potential of the markets where these bikes will be sold. EBR will continue bringing its expensive bikes in traditional and emerging markets. Also, it will expand its business with developing small displacement bikes to earn more revenue. Few markets will witness motorbikes with\u00a0Hero badge while few with\u00a0EBR emblem according to the appropriateness and brand familiarity.\u00a0Pietruszewski further adds\u00a0that even though the plans for the future generations of motorcycles have not yet been concrete, the possibilities are quite vast.<\/p>\n
