Moto Guzzi<\/a> fans have something to be happy about at 2012 EICMA show<\/a>. The manufacturer has unveiled the Moto Guzzi California 1400 Touring and California 1400 Custom motorcycle models to its fans at the 2012 EICMA in Milan.<\/p>\n

Both the Touring and Custom models come with a different attire. The touring model gets a two tone black and white seat along with a pinstriped tank which is very much influenced by its predecessor that debuted in 1971. The custom model is in black and looks as fabulous as the Touring one. Moto Guzzi has revamped the California line-up with advanced electronics and rider aids, making the California brand even more inviting.<\/p>\n

Before the official unveiling, Moto Guzzi had to say this – \u201cA new standard in handling, comfort and technology is coming to the cruiser market\u2026\u201d. <\/em>As of now we don’t know how credible the statement is, but we do know that the California 1400 Touring and Custom models are something to look forward to.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe innovation, introduced to obtain a new standard in terms of riding, consists in fitting the powertrain to the frame by means of an exclusive elastic-kinematic supports system made up of a front rocker, two side rockers and a series of rubber dampeners which allow the engine to shake around its own center of gravity, filtering out all the vibrations preventing them from being transmitted to the bike and the places where the rider and passenger come into contact with it,\u201d <\/em>said Moto Guzzi PR.<\/p>\n

Technical Specifications<\/h3>\n

The bike comes with an air\/oil cooled, transverse 90-degree, 1380 CC, V-Twin engine that produces a max power of 96 BHP @ 6500 RPM and 120 Nm of peak torque @ 2750 RPM. The engine has three maps which the rider can toggle between: Tourismo (Touring), Veloce (Fast) and Bagnato (Wet), meaning the rider has control over torque output and engine braking. The engine comes mated to a 6 speed gear box. Some of technologies coming as standard are ride-by-wire throttle system, ABS, traction control and cruise control.<\/p>\n

The California twins come with a sports tuned chassis. The double cradle frame has 46 mm fork pair at the front and a pair of preload adjustable shock absorbers at the rear.<\/p>\n
