The most interesting news so far has been the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ridetalks.com\/news\/tag\/ktm\/\" target=\"_blank\">KTM<\/a> Super Duke 1290 prototype but that is not where the story ends, as we have other bikes too. The next motorcycle which we are going to talk about is the <strong>2013 <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ridetalks.com\/news\/tag\/aprilia\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Aprilia<\/strong><\/a><strong> Coponard 1200<\/strong> adventure tourer. The motorcycle is not new to the masses as in 2001 Aprilia had launched the ETV 1000 Coponard, and after a decade the company unveils the new generation Coponard which is technologically well equipped.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"2013 Aprilia Caponord 1200 4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ridetalks.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/2013-Aprilia-Caponord-1200-4.jpg\" alt=\"2013 Aprilia Caponord 1200 4\" width=\"690\" height=\"528\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>2013 Aprilia Coponard 1200 Official Video<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Am5NJU19Pgw?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The bike is based on the chassis of Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 which some modifications to suit the Coponard 1200. Inside the chassis is a 1197 CC V-twin motor that produces a max power of 128 BHP and peak torque of 115 Nm. There is nothing interesting about the performance figures and even by comparison with other adventure bikes it does not stand out. But what Aprilia\u2019s strategy is, is to attract buyers with the set of electronics that are on offer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; padding-top: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"2013 Aprilia Caponord 1200 2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ridetalks.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/2013-Aprilia-Caponord-1200-2.jpg\" alt=\"2013 Aprilia Caponord 1200 2\" width=\"680\" height=\"467\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The bike is available in two trim levels of which the base or standard Coponard 1200 comes with the following features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lower-spec suspension<\/li>\n<li>Traction control<\/li>\n<li>Ride-by-wire<\/li>\n<li>Selectable engine maps<\/li>\n<li>Dual-channel <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carblogindia.com\/abs-anti-lock-braking-system-and-ebd-electronic-brake-force-distribution-in-plain-english\/\" target=\"_blank\">ABS<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Heated grips<\/li>\n<li>Adjustable windscreen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The top end variant is suspected to get the \u2018travel pack\u2019 option that will make a huge difference as it would come with Aprilia Dynamic Damping system, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carblogindia.com\/what-is-cruise-control-and-adaptive-cruise-control-what-is-the-difference-between-them\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cruise control<\/a>, Panniers, and a center stand. The motorcycle comes with 17 inch wheels front and back as standard meaning it will be great off-roading machine, and a 6.3 gallon fuel tank.<\/p>\n<p>The pricing and launch time has not been announced yet, though we expect it to arrive during spring 2013.<\/p>\n<h3>Technical Specifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Engine type: Aprilia V90 four-stroke longitudinal 90\u00b0 V-twin engine, liquid cooled, double overhead camshaft with mixed gear\/chain timing system, four valves per cylinder<\/li>\n<li>Bore and stroke: 106 x 67.8 mm<\/li>\n<li>Total engine capacity: 1197 cc<\/li>\n<li>Compression ratio: 12.0 \u00b1 0.5 : 1<\/li>\n<li>Maximum power at crankshaft: 128 HP at 8,500 rpm<\/li>\n<li>Maximum torque at crankshaft: 85 ft. lbs. at 6,500 rpm<\/li>\n<li>Fuel system: Integrated engine management system. Injection with triple map Ride by Wire throttle management: Sport (S), Touring (T), Rain (R)<\/li>\n<li>Ignition: Digital twin spark electronic ignition integrated with injection system<\/li>\n<li>Starter: Electric<\/li>\n<li>Exhaust system: 100% stainless steel 2-in-2 exhaust system with dual catalytic converters and oxygen sensor<\/li>\n<li>Alternator: 690 W\/6000 rpm<\/li>\n<li>Lubrication: Wet sump<\/li>\n<li>Gearbox: 6 speeds, drive ratio: 14\/37, 18\/32, 21\/28, 24\/26, 25\/24, 27\/24<\/li>\n<li>Clutch: Multiplate wet clutch, hydraulically operated<\/li>\n<li>Chassis: Modular tubular steel frame fastened to aluminum side plates by high strength bolts. Removable steel rear subframe<\/li>\n<li>Front suspension: 43 mm Sachs upside-down front fork with fully adjustable compression and rebound damping and spring preload. Wheel travel 167 mm.<\/li>\n<li>Rear suspension: Aluminium alloy swingarm Sachs hydraulic shock absorber with adjustable rebound and preload. Wheel travel 150 mm.<\/li>\n<li>Brakes\n<ul>\n<li>Front: Dual 320 mm stainless steel floating discs. Brembo four-piston radial callipers.
