Yamaha<\/a> has been dedicatedly working on the Yamaha YZF-R250<\/a> for the Asian markets such as India and others nearby, and we informed you about the same in our previous post. Unlike the European and American markets where the demand for mid and top of the line performance machines is more, the Asian markets rely more on the entry level sport bikes.<\/p>\n

If you consider the Indian market for instance, some of the major global manufacturers are present there and have almost all the motorcycles on offer but in spite of that the 250 CC segment is dominant over there. So for sure the R250 will have a great future in such markets.<\/p>\n

As far as Yamaha\u2019s portfolio in India is concerned they have a good line-up of 150 CC motorcycles which are doing really well amid the presence of some more powerful motorcycles, but now they seriously want a 250 CC machine which is expected to outperform bikes like KTM Duke<\/a> 200, Kawasaki Ninja 250R, Honda CBR250R and so on.<\/p>\n

Now what we have come to hear is that the YZF-R250 is going to be unveiled at the 2012 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, which is scheduled to run from 15th to 18th of November, 2012. The motorcycle has been codenamed Project 1W<\/em> and is expected to be a brilliant performer.<\/p>\n

On the styling front the motorcycle\u2019s design will be inspired by the popular Yamaha R6, so for sure it will be a head turner. Yamaha is only going to showcase the concept version of the same at the EICMA show and not the production model. However, the production version will arrive in early 2013 and the sales will begin later.<\/p>\n

Although the technical specifications have not been announced as of yet, we expect a twin cylinder engine to power the motorcycle. The unit will be good enough for 35 BHP of max power. Pricing wise it should fall under the $4000 mark, meaning great performance at a reasonable price.<\/p>\n
