Harley Davidson made it clear that they perceive India as one of their most important markets when they started off their 110th anniversary celebrations from India. They have been introducing new bikes in the market via the CKD route to keep the costs down and now will start producing 3 more bikes via the CKD route in the country. The SoftTail range of motorcycles will be assembled in the country now and this would result in a price drop of upto Rs.5.5 lakhs of the motorcycles.

The SoftTail range includes the FatBoy, the FatBoy Special and the Heritage SoftTail Classic. The FatBoy will now retail for INR 14.5 lakhs and this is a revision of INR 5 lakhs from the price tag of of INR 19.51 lakhs. The FatBoy Special will now sell for INR 15.60 lakhs and used to sell for INR 20 lakhs previously. The flagship SoftTail, the Heritage SoftTail Classic will sell for INR 16.25 lakhsnow instead of the price tag of INR 20.51 lakhs which came via the CKD route.

KTM held an Orange Day in the city of Mumbai a few days back where the company showcased the KTM SX-F Dirt Bike which will now hit the KTM showrooms in India as a display unit. But along with that, came an announcement which would get a lot of Indian biking enthusiasts going. Amit Nandi, Business Head, KTM India announced the KTM Duke 390 would hit the Indian roads around June 2013 and will come with an on-road price of INR 2.3-2.5 lakhs.

KTM has already disclosed the fact that India is quite an important market for them and out of the blues, have unveiled the 350 SX-F dirt bike in the land of India. The bike broke cover at the KTM Orange Day which was held in Mumbai and as of now there are no official words regarding the launch of the bike in the country and the bike will join the RC8 as a display unit later in the day. A point worth mentioning is that the company is going to launch the KTM Duke 390 in India in a few days.

C is for Convenience, T is for Technology and X stands for eXperience. Together they make up the Honda CTX Series. And the CTX series just got itself two new warriors. The CTX700 and the CTX700ND have been unvieled by Honda at the 2013 International Motorcycle Show which took place at the city of Chicago and the bikes will hit the North American Honda dealerships in a few weeks. Honda also intends on increasing the number of siblings in the CTX Lineup in future.

Japanese are the ones who get treated to the maximum number of motorcycles. The country has plethora of bike launches every year and the segment which garners the maximum attention usually is the 250cc-400cc segment. The Japanese government gives quite a lot of tax incentives to the motorcycles in this range and the resultant is that the major motorbiking players-Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki make sure they have Japan Only motorcycles in their lineup.

Honda has just launched the 2013 Honda VTR250 sportsbike in Japan and it will be exclusive to Japan. It gets a 250cc V-Twin four stroke engine which would churn out 29 horses and a peak torque of 22 NM. The engine will be mated to a 5 speed gearbox and it gets telescopic forks in the front and a monoshock rear to take care of the ride quality and bumps. The engine will get fuel injection and will be liquid cooled as well.
